Commercial Door Locks That Work

Nobody really thinks about the locks on the doors at the businesses they go to every day. It's not until you go to the store after hours and find it closed or a child turns the lock to 'see what would happen' and holds up people coming in and out that people start thinking about the heavy duty commercial locks at most stores and businesses.

Known for their tamper-proof characteristics, commercial door locks are nearly impossible to circumvent. For this reason, most robberies of businesses happen either during the day when people are present or in the night and usually involve breaking glass in a door or window.

These deviants will do just about anything to conquer the enhanced security set forth by many business's commercial door locks. These purveyors of crime have even gone to the extreme length of driving a stolen vehicle through the side of a building to commit a robbery. For some, this method proved less futile than attempting to thwart the strength of a high quality commercial door lock.

There are many types of installable commercial doors locks that can be used to keep a business safe. Many smaller businesses use locks contained in the doorknobs or handles of the door much like at a residential property. However, these are much more tamper proof. There are also more complicated systems that make the doors lock into the ground and ceiling with a special bar. This makes pushing a locked door like trying to push a brick wall.

A lot of today's commercial door locks are managed by changeable combinations. The reason for this is you are able to reduce the cost of having locks changed when workers lose or don't return keys. This also enables some locking systems to be wired to the burglar alarm. This means that when the door opens without the correct code, an alarm will be set off.

Maintaining proper control of the keys to a business organization's commercial door locks is paramount to the company's security. Most often, prior employees or their family members the individuals who would be tempted to use a key to the detriment of the business. For this reason, whenever an employee resigns or is terminated, the importance of ensuring that the keys to the business's commercial locks are returned is essential for company security.
